More Than a Cultural Training Workshop

At Bookabee Australia, cultural training is more than a workshop. It is a shared journey toward understanding, respect, and Reconciliation. Led by Aboriginal facilitators with lived experience and deep cultural knowledge, these sessions help organisations move beyond awareness and into action. Whether it is a corporate team, a government department, or a community organisation, participants are invited to walk in the footsteps of Australia's First Peoples and engage in open, meaningful learning.

Learning Through Connection

Cultural training with Bookabee is about connection. Through storytelling, discussion, and reflective activities, participants explore key themes such as cultural safety, cultural preconceptions, the impact of colonisation, and the strengths of First Peoples’ cultures. Many leave with a new lens through which to view history, relationships, workplace practices and cultural interactions. One participant recently shared, “I thought I understood, but this made it real. It challenged me, in a good way.”

Tailored, Inclusive Training

What sets Bookabee apart is the personal approach. Programs are tailored to suit each group’s industry, size, and readiness, from introductory sessions to advanced, immersive on-Country experiences. Founder Haydyn Bromley brings over three decades of experience to each training, using storytelling and humour to break down barriers and build trust, respect and credibility. This flexibility and warmth mean people from all walks of life feel safe to ask questions, self-reflect and grow.

Lasting Impact Beyond the Session

Importantly, the ripple effects of cultural training extend far beyond the session. Organisations report stronger relationships with Aboriginal communities, more inclusive policy development, and increased confidence in staff to engage respectfully with diverse cultural groups. Cultural training becomes the spark that ignites deeper understanding and commitments, including the development of Reconciliation Action Plans and improved Aboriginal workforce recruitment and retention.

A Step Toward Real Change

At its heart, Bookabee’s training is about walking together, listening, learning, and taking steps toward a shared future. As more Australians seek to build bridges and honour the world’s oldest continuously living culture, cultural training is a powerful first step on the path to understanding. Importantly, it does not stop there. Participants are encouraged to apply what they have learned meaningfully, whether it is reviewing workplace practices, amplifying Aboriginal voices, or embedding cultural perspectives and respect into everyday decisions and practices.

By investing in authentic cultural learning, organisations are not just checking a box. They are showing genuine commitment to truth-telling, equity, and real partnerships with Aboriginal people and communities. And that is where real life-long change begins.

We would like to acknowledge the land we meet on is the traditional lands of the Kaurna People and we pay respect to their spiritual relationship with their Country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna People as traditional custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still vital to Kaurna People today. We also acknowledge the diversity of Aboriginal People who live, work and gather on Kaurna land.
